“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
“Do not love the world or the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” 1 John 2:15
Having the office closed from Christmas Eve through New Year’s day is nice. NICE! Just when I’m getting used to it though, it’ll be over.
#JMJ Enjoying some down time and later a bit of homily prep.
“My own eyes have seen the salvation which you prepared in the sight of every people.” Luke 2:30-31
#JMJ Kicking back & resting.
Brrr…. It’s cold out there. Perfect day to be in church, celebrating the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph! (@FrCorySticha - #JMJ)
Well, Tornado Watch/Armageddon passed, but now the temp. should plummet more than 40 degrees tonight. Danger in the church parking lot tmrw!
“For the LORD sets a father in honor over his children; a mother’s authority he confirms over her sons.” Sirach 3:2
Yes, a tornado watch in December. Comparisons to Armageddon notwithstanding…

Little foggy out there. Thought I’d been transported to Scotland or something!
“Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” Acts 7:56
The sacred mysteries have been well-celebrated here at St. Raphael; now a little rest! Merry Christmas to all!
Slowly getting ready for the day, just have the 12:15 Mass to go. Peace and Merry Christmas to all!
And now to sleep. Merry Christmas, everyone!
“And the Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” John 1:14a
Getting ready for the “Midnight” Mass (10:30). Merry Christmas!
Watching the Grinch (Jim Carrey Version) and doing laundry. Merry Christmas!
Just put Jesus in the manger (& tethered him in there!) outside of church. Merry Christmas, all!
And here we go. Getting ready for the Vigil Mass. Merry Christmas, everyone!
The Vigil Mass was a good Jesuit Liturgy: no one was hurt, nothing caught fire. Now to prepare for the 10:30 Midnight Mass. Merry Christmas!
“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and brought redemption to his people.” Luke 1:68
Christmas homily’s done. Now to get in the spirit of things. Sigh.
Christmas homilies are tough. How do you encapsulate the awe and joy of the Incarnation in ten minutes? Okay, maybe twelve, but ten, no.

“The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.” Luke 1:49
It’s -6 degrees, and God knows what with the wind chill (the wind is howling out there). I hate January. Oh, wait…
“Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” Luke 1:30
